Notes & Details

Topan was the first mass produced lamp designed by Verner Panton in 1959 (who used an anagram of his name for its name) closely followed by the Flower Pot Lamp.   It was originally produced for the Astoria hotel and restaurant in Trondheim, Norway.   Panton used these lights to divide the spaces , creating intimate areas, counterpointed by his Geometry 1 and 2 fabrics.
