The Original Ptolomeo bookcase from Opinion Ciatti was designed by Bruno Rainaldi in 2003. His design creates a unique solution for those with a lot of books and little space to store them. The bookshelf is perfect for Hong Kong's tight spaces. By holding texts horizontally in a vertical stack, the tall Sapien can accommodate up to 70 small and large books in a very compact footprint.
This version is illuminated from behind with an LED light.
The shelves are removable and when fully loaded with books, the shelves disappear, creating a beautiful work of art. Each shelf can hold around 5 books.
The shelves are made of powder coated metal in white and black, raw steel for that industrial edge, stainless steel.
This bookcase is oft copied-but nothing beats the original in terms of strength and quality.
If out of stock lead time is around 12 to 14 weeks. If required earlier, we are happy to ship by air, an addtional delivery and installation charge of HKD2000 is payable per order.
Bruno Rainaldi has been influencing the design scene in Milan for the past 3 decades. He spends his time designing furniture, bringing iconic works back into production or teaching students at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where he is a professor.
