GUBI PEDRERA FLOOR LAMP (PD2)

Notes & Details

The Pedrera PD2 standard floor lamp was originally created in 1955 by Spanish designer Barba Corsini to match the Pedrera.

Corsini had the  task of designing the interior of the world famous Spanish residence of Antonio Gaudi. So the architect created these numerously awarded and internationally renowned lamps specially for the apartments of Gaudi's much-valued building in Barcelona. His source of inspiration were its unique cylindrical chimneys with their interesting hole pattern. In the lamp's base he picked up the design of the "La Pedrera" house's vaulted ceiling, which is also where the Pedrera got its name.
In 2010 the beautiful Pedrera collection was rediscovered and reissued by the Danish label Gubi.
